How to Prepare for Your Orthodontic Consultation:
When you come to one of our offices for your complimentary orthodontic exam, it’s a great idea to have your patient forms filled out prior to your arrival. We understand how busy you and your child’s schedules are, so we want to help you save as much time as possible. Fill out your forms and bring them to your consultation to get started!
What to Expect at Your Orthodontic Consultation:
At your initial, free orthodontic exam, you’ll begin by meeting our welcoming team. Our front desk receptionist and treatment coordinator will be happy to greet you.
We will assess your current orthodontic condition by taking pictures and x-rays of the inside and outside of your smile. With these photos, we’ll begin to customize your treatment plan. You’ll sit down with our treatment coordinator and doctor to discuss your medical history as well as your goals through treatment.
(Unlike some other orthodontic practices, our doctors, Dr. Caudill and Dr. McNeight, will be the ones to complete your orthodontic exam!)
If you choose Invisalign® treatment, we’ll present you with a digital scan of your teeth once your x-rays are complete. We can even give you a virtual look at your end results and how your smile will look after treatment, before you even begin treatment!
How long after your first orthodontist appointment do you get braces?
When you begin your braces treatment is up to you! With braces, we are often able to place braces the same day as your initial consultation. Your braces appointment process begins with a discussion of your smile goals, then we’ll discuss the cost of treatment. From here, we’ll present our various payment plans as well as your orthodontic insurance coverage (if this applies to you).
Once you understand the orthodontist appointment stages, you’re ready to ride the wave to your best smile. Being prepared for your first orthodontist appointment and knowing what to expect is the greatest way to feel comfortable and confident before starting your treatment with braces or Invisalign.
